Research Background:
Dr. Chanover joined the faculty at the NMSU Astronomy Department in the fall of 1998. Prior to this appointment, she worked as a National Research Council Resident Research Associate at NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD, studying the atmosphere of Venus and working on new astronomical imaging technologies. Her research interests include planetary and satellite atmospheres and their radiative transfer and dynamics, brown dwarf atmospheres, planetary instrumentation development, and education and public outreach.
